Who We Are
Welcome to Bluebonnet Dough Works! I’m Jennifer — the baker, sourdough enthusiast, and heart behind this little cottage bakery. My husband, Andy, and our two kids are right there with me, making this truly a family endeavor.
I grew up in northeast Texas (which has definitely influenced my baking!), and Andy’s from north Alabama. Life eventually brought us to Tallahassee years ago for my career as a clinical psychologist — but baking has always been my creative outlet. I fell in love with it back in my college days at Texas A&M, and my passion for baking was cemented during graduate school; I’d spend most weekends in the kitchen baking bread and other treats.
My sourdough journey started when Andy brought home a sourdough cookbook one day. Something about it just clicked. I made my own starter from scratch, and before long, I was baking bread constantly — tweaking recipes, learning through trial and error, and filling our kitchen with that warm, tangy aroma I can’t get enough of.
Bluebonnet Dough Works officially launched in 2023. Today, I make everything from crusty sourdough loaves to cookies, croissants, and kolaches, all with a bit of personality and a lot of care. I don’t have a storefront (yet!), but you can find me at local markets, festivals, and pop-up events — or by placing a direct order.
This micro-bakery grew from a simple love for baking into something that connects our family with our community in the greatest way. I’m so glad you’re here — and I can’t wait to share a little warmth, creativity, and sourdough goodness with you.
